Alondra Bonilla Cavitt

Last night a big group of us had quite the adventure. We decided to go zip lining. It was a longer walk than I expected but we found our destination. I have been zip lining before and was really excited to do it again. We zip lined over the river and the view was beautiful. I think everyone enjoyed it. After we finished we decided to walk towards the hotel and get something to eat on the way home. We ended up splitting up so it was a group of six of us. We started going in the direction we thought was the right way, but it wasn’t. We walked around for a while trying to figure out where to go. We asked some people for directions but we had no luck. When we finally found out the way to get home it had almost been two hours. We were all starving and decided to stop and a random restaurant. The food was not very good but we all ate anyway. Although it was cold and rainy while we were lost it was a good experience. We discovered some pretty cool things.

Today we arrived in Granada via a bus. It was a long bus ride but I was looking forward to meeting my host family. I was also somewhat nervous. I know a little bit of Spanish but did not know what to expect. What I did know is that our family has two kids. When we got off the bus it was pouring rain. We ended up having to walk to our home stay. All of my bags were soaked by the time we got there. When we first arrived just the mom, Silvia, was home. She showed us our room and we started to unpack. After a little while she went to pick up her kids. There is a boy named Mateo who is three, and a girl named Carmen who is one. Silvia is very nice and the kids are so cute. I am looking forward to the time I will get to spend here in Granada.

I did not know my roommate, Autumn, very well before the trip. We met in class when I heard her talking about the trip. We got along very well from the start. It has only been four days but I think living with her is going well and will continue to go well. We both love to explore and have lots of fun. I cannot express how excited I am for the rest of this trip.
